More than a set of wheels.
Prince showed Giovanni Michelotti's Skyline Sport coupe and convertible at the 1960 Turin motor show, then released the production version in Japan in April 1962. Italian craftsmen were brought to Japan to teach the hand-forming methods needed for its unusual body. Underneath, the 1,862 cc four-cylinder engine and chassis came from the Prince Gloria 1900. The coupe cost ¥1,850,000—far above ordinary Japanese cars—and only about sixty Skyline Sports of both body styles were produced.
Look a little closer.
The 1960 Turin show coupe wore a rear-view mirror with Olympic rings as a tribute to the Rome Olympics; Nissan warns that the show car's mirror and badges differ from production cars.

Italian lines, taught by hand in Japan
Michelotti designed the Skyline Sport and the first show bodies were made by an Italian carrozzeria. For production, Prince invited Italian artisans to Japan to pass on hand-forming techniques. That craft-heavy process helps explain both the tiny output and enormous price.

Prince used the Gloria 1900's chassis and 1,862 cc GB4 engine beneath the Michelotti body. The coupe stretched to 4.65 metres and weighed about 1,350 kg, so its 94 PS made it a graceful luxury grand tourer rather than a light racing car.
