The one-off Ferrari that carried her name, not a proven title

- Identity
- One-off 1954 Pinin Farina Coupé Speciale · chassis 0456AM · photographed with Bergman and Rossellini at the Paris motor show on October 7, 1954 · specialist record says Bergman never took delivery
Ferrari’s own design history identifies this one-off 375 MM Pinin Farina berlinetta as a 1954 commission by film director Roberto Rossellini for actor Ingrid Bergman. That supports a commission made for her, not a leap to personal ownership. A specialist chassis history says Bergman never took delivery and that Rossellini briefly owned the car; Joyride therefore leaves both delivery and Bergman’s legal title unproven.
The individual car is chassis 0456AM, a Pinin Farina Coupé Speciale displayed at the 1954 Paris motor show. A public-domain photograph dated October 7 shows Bergman and Rossellini beside that exact car on the show floor. The photograph is separate from the credited 1941 identification portrait and is not a generic 375 MM, a replica or a generated reconstruction.
The car’s pale finish became part of Ferrari’s design vocabulary. Ferrari calls the color Grigio Ingrid and says it was later available for other cars, while using the one-off as historical context for the GTC4Lusso. That color story is documented; a present owner, current custody, complete 375 MM family coverage, road-car equivalence or a compatible Joyride driving entry is not.
