- Identity
- Seven individual cars, each identified by its auction lot and chassis.
Peart’s collection grew from a passion for driving sports cars. His own account connects the Silver Surfers name to coastal journeys in his Aston Martin DB5. The official book page describes the black Shelby Cobra as the one car he chose to keep outside the silver palette.
Gooding & Company offered seven individual cars from his estate at its August 2021 Pebble Beach auction. Their lot records distinguish the cars by chassis and record changes such as the Jaguar’s Tremec gearbox and the DB5’s larger engine specification. These are historical ownership records, not claims about their current owners.

Each card identifies Peart’s individual car. Open the auction record to see photographs of that exact vehicle; permission to reproduce those car photographs here is still pending.
1963 Chevrolet Corvette 327/340 Split-Window Coupe
The only model-year split rear window in this group. Gooding identifies the RPO L76 327-cubic-inch V8 and four-speed Muncie M20 gearbox, and dates its place in Peart’s collection to 2011.

1973 Maserati Ghibli 4.9 SS Coupe
The Ghibli brought a 4.9-litre V8 and a five-speed ZF gearbox to the collection. Gooding describes it as one of Peart’s favorite cars to drive and records professional preparation and repainting in 2014.

1964 Shelby 289 Cobra
The Cobra was the final addition to Peart’s Silver Surfers. It retains its 289-cubic-inch Ford V8 and twin four-barrel intake. Its black finish was the deliberate exception to the collection’s silver theme.

1964 Aston Martin DB5
The DB5 started the Silver Surfers collection. The auction records identify its chassis and matching-numbers engine, but list a larger 4.2-litre engine specification and three Weber carburetors. It should not be treated as a stock 4.0-litre DB5 in a driving simulation.
- Chassis
- DB5/1690/R

Rick Carey reports it sold after the auction and was reported a few days later. No precise completion date asserted.

1964 Jaguar E-Type Series I 3.8-Litre Fixed Head Coupe
Peart owned this E-Type from 2013. The auction record identifies the original engine and documents changes intended for driving: a five-speed Tremec gearbox and Wilwood disc brakes. Its modified specification matters when comparing it with a standard E-Type.
