Goodwood’s October 1, 2024 feature identifies Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason as the owner of this Ferrari 250 GTO and says he bought it in 1978, when it was a 16-year-old ex-competition car. The same account says the car had remained in his continuous ownership to that date. Joyride stops the ownership claim there: a later show photograph does not prove present-day custody in 2026.
Goodwood traces the individual Ferrari back to Belgian team Écurie Francorchamps. It finished second in class at the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans, became the first 250 GTO with an integrated rear spoiler and continued competing every year until its retirement from wheel-to-wheel motorsport in 2014. Those facts describe chassis 3757GT’s documented history, not every 250 GTO or the wider Ferrari 250 family.
The remarkable part of Mason’s tenure is use rather than storage. Goodwood records school runs, shopping trips, rallies and public event appearances, including the John Surtees parade at the 2024 Goodwood Revival. MrWalkr photographed the same chassis at Salon Privé on August 30, 2025. That public display extends the car’s visible event trail but does not independently extend Mason’s ownership beyond the 2024 dated evidence.
