A place in vehicle history

More than a set of wheels.

Toyota launched the completely redesigned Corolla sedan in Japan on 10 October 2006 and gave it the Axio sub-name. This page selects the 1.5 G front-wheel-drive Super CVT-i version and its DBA-NZE141-AEXEK identity, rather than mixing it with the five-speed manual, four-wheel-drive G or 1.8-litre Luxel.

Look a little closer.

Parking-tech detective: the launch Axio's rearview monitor was standard, while Intelligent Parking Assist and radar-based pre-crash technology were optional. Which feature shows the driver a view, and which one can help turn the steering wheel?

Manual or CVT was a real version choice

Toyota's launch price table offered the front-wheel-drive 1.5 G with either a five-speed manual or Super CVT-i. This profile selects the CVT version, which cost ¥1,690,500 including consumption tax at launch. A CVT changes ratio continuously instead of asking the driver to select one of five fixed gears, so the two versions should not be blended into one mechanical identity.

A camera was standard; steering help was optional

Every launch Axio had a rearview monitor that displayed the area behind the car while reversing. Toyota separately described Intelligent Parking Assist as an option that used ultrasonic sensors and could support steering during parallel or reverse parking. The camera helped the driver see; it did not make every Axio a self-parking car.
