A place in vehicle history

More than a set of wheels.

Renault opened French orders for the fifth-generation Clio on 2 April 2019. This page selects the Intens TCe 100 manual listed in Renault's launch price table, rather than mixing together the Zen, Business, R.S. Line or Initiale Paris equipment levels. It also stays separate from the 130-hp EDC automatic, later TCe 90 and LPG versions.

Look a little closer.

Design detective: the rear door handles hide high beside the rear windows, helping the five-door Clio look a little like a three-door car. The cover shows a real French 2019 TCe 100 launch-era display car, but its exact trim is not claimed from the photograph.

Photos show an example of the model or generation. The pictured vehicle’s year, equipment, or modifications can differ from the specification described here.

How a one-litre engine reaches 100 ch

Renault's new TCe 100 used three cylinders, a turbocharger with an electrically controlled wastegate, an exhaust manifold partly integrated into the cylinder head, twin variable valve timing and a low-friction cylinder coating. Renault compared it with the earlier TCe 90 and reported 10 more horsepower and 20 N·m more torque. This 2019 engine used multipoint injection; it should not be described as the later direct-injection 1.3 TCe.

One engine did not mean one complete identity

Renault offered the TCe 100 across several French launch trims, so an engine name alone cannot identify a whole vehicle. The official April price table lists the Intens TCe 100 at €20,100 including VAT. Choosing Intens here keeps equipment and price claims bounded while the cover remains visibly labeled as trim-unverified.
