More than a set of wheels.
Mitsubishi launched the Colt Galant in December 1969 as its first car to carry the Galant name. The range targeted Japan's new highway age with more room, quietness and performance than earlier Colts. A II denoted the 1.5-litre branch; GS was its twin-carb performance sedan. It is separate from the 1.3-litre A I Custom already in the batch.
Look a little closer.
A II names the 1.5-litre branch, while GS adds the exact twin-carburetor performance specification documented for A52 GS.
Photos show an example of the model or generation. The pictured vehicle’s year, equipment, or modifications can differ from the specification described here.
The Saturn engine starts a long orbit
Mitsubishi began 4G3 Saturn production in August 1969. The 1.3-litre 4G30 and 1.5-litre 4G31 entered service in the Colt Galant that December; the family continued for decades.

A I identifies the 1.3-litre 4G30 branch; A II identifies the 1.5-litre 4G31 branch. GS adds twin carburetors and a four-speed floor shift. That distinction prevents collision with the batch's A I Custom.
