More than a set of wheels.
The R32 Skyline family appeared in May 1989, and the GT-R badge returned that August after a sixteen-year absence. Nissan engineered the RB26DETT 2.6-liter twin-turbo six and ATTESA E-TS torque-split all-wheel drive for performance on road and track. This profile covers the standard Japanese launch road car rated at 280 PS, not the 400–550 PS racing versions found elsewhere in Nissan's collection.
Look a little closer.
The GT-R name had disappeared for sixteen years before this car brought it back.

Road-car numbers are not race-car numbers
Nissan rates the 1989 production car at 206 kW (280 PS) and 353 N·m. Its Heritage Collection also contains Group A and N1 racers with roughly 400–550 PS. Those machines share the BNR32 identity but use competition preparation, so their output, weight, tires and brakes must not be copied into this road profile.

The GT-R's performance was not just a twin-turbo engine. Nissan combined ATTESA E-TS electronically controlled torque-split four-wheel drive with multilink suspension at all four wheels. The system could manage traction while the independent suspension controlled wheel movement over bumps and during cornering.
