Renault Safrane RXE V6
The Safrane hid a big rear hatch inside the shape of a formal luxury saloon, then put a smooth PRV V6 and rich RXE equipment up front.

Joyride shows this gap instead of substituting an asking price, unsold bid or mismatched special vehicle.
More than a set of wheels.
Renault introduced the Safrane in 1992 to replace the Renault 25 at the top of its range. It looked like a three-box executive car, but its rear glass and boot lid lifted together. The RXE V6 combined that practical five-door body with the PRV V6 and the highest regular trim line. This profile stays with the front-drive manual car, not the V6 Quadra, Baccara, armoured presidential limousine or twin-turbo special.
Look a little closer.
A special stretched, armoured V6 Safrane was supplied to French president François Mitterrand in 1992—but that one-off is not the production RXE described here.

A flagship with a hatch
Renault wanted the Safrane to represent the brand's high end, yet kept the useful fastback idea of the Renault 25. The result is a five-door body whose large rear opening is easy to miss when the hatch is shut.

The front-drive RXE V6i, V6 Quadra, plush Baccara and later Biturbo share a family face but not the same driveline or output. The Biturbo alone adds two KKK turbochargers and permanent all-wheel drive; the presidential car adds a stretched, armoured body. Neither supplies facts for this standard RXE.
