A place in vehicle history

More than a set of wheels.

Sold new in 1912, this Eysink returned to its selling garage in 1917. The Eysink Club reports a collision with a tree; Louwman Museum instead explains the trade-in in terms of unreliability. These accounts are not reconciled here. Long storage and occasional public outings preceded its 1980s restoration and later museum display. The sources also differ on total production and custody wording; those points remain unsettled.

Look a little closer.

The club records the car appearing during Princess Juliana’s 1945 visit to Zeeland.

Photos show an example of the model or generation. The pictured vehicle’s year, equipment, or modifications can differ from the specification described here.

Survival came from storage and intermittent use

The Eysink Club attributes the 1917 return to a collision, while Louwman Museum cites unreliability. Neither account establishes that the other explanation is false, and this profile does not combine them into a proven sequence. Both describe long storage followed by occasional public use. The later restoration also means that survival alone does not prove every component is original.

One survivor cannot silently represent every Eysink

The 10/12 HP is the only surviving automobile from a maker that produced many configurations and later concentrated on motorcycles. Its four-cylinder, restored 1912 form can anchor this exact profile, but it cannot prove the shapes or specifications of Eysink's lost prototypes, taxis or smaller cars.
