Citroën Ami 6 Saloon
The Ami 6 squeezed a roomy middle step into Citroën's range and wore an upside-down-looking rear window that stayed clearer in rain.

A matching completed auction sale has not been verified for this exact year, body, trim, engine, transmission and market.
Joyride shows this gap instead of substituting an asking price, unsold bid or mismatched special vehicle.
More than a set of wheels.
Citroën presented the Ami 6 to the press on 24 April 1961 as the missing link between the basic 2CV and the larger ID/DS. Flaminio Bertoni shaped the saloon around a dramatic reverse-rake rear window, a useful conventional boot and four seats. This profile stays with the original French 602 cc saloon, before the more successful estate and four-headlamp Club versions.
Look a little closer.
Its famous Z-line rear window was not just decoration: Citroën said it preserved rear-seat room and a normal boot while helping rain slide away.

A middle child with its own face
The launch filled the price and size gap between 2CV and ID 19 rather than replacing the 2CV. Bertoni's reverse-rake glass, rectangular lamps and embossed flanks made the modest family car look unlike either neighbour.

Citroën's heritage record gives a 3.87 m length, 1.52 m width and 640 kg curb weight. That compact shell carried four people, while the 2.4 m wheelbase and tall roof protected passenger space.
