Morgan 3 Wheeler

It looks like a 1930s machine, but its huge motorcycle-style V-twin and Mazda gearbox belong to the twenty-first century.

A place in vehicle history

More than a set of wheels.

Morgan revived its famous three-wheel format at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and delivered production cars in 2012. The new machine kept the dramatic front-mounted V-twin and single rear wheel, but added electronic fuel injection, a modern five-speed gearbox and contemporary brakes. Its body still looks wonderfully simple: two open seats, two front fenders and almost no place to hide.

Look a little closer.

The starter button sits beneath a flip-up safety cover inspired by an aircraft's bomb-release switch.

Old shape, mixed modern hardware

The car deliberately borrows the layout of Morgan's early cyclecars, but its parts come from several modern specialists: the S&S V-twin from the United States, a five-speed manual derived from Mazda practice, fuel injection, and a belt final drive. The result is a revival rather than a replica—recognizably Morgan, yet built for twenty-first-century production.

Why launch numbers need labels

The 2011–2012 brochure and launch publicity used 115 hp, about 500 kg, 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and 185 km/h. Morgan's later final-series page lists 82 bhp, 525 kg and 6.0 seconds because emissions rules and production development changed the car. This profile keeps the first-year publicity together and does not quietly mix in the later Euro 4 output.
