Toyota Land Cruiser 300 ZX gasoline

The 300 Series kept the Land Cruiser's separate-frame toughness while redesigning almost everything around it. This exact Japanese ZX uses Toyota's twin-turbo gasoline V6, ten-speed automatic and three-row, seven-seat cabin.

A place in vehicle history

More than a set of wheels.

Toyota launched the 300 Series in Japan on August 2, 2021. This page follows the gasoline ZX catalog entry coded 3BA-VJA300W: a seven-seat, right-hand-drive flagship with the V35A-FTS engine and Direct Shift-10AT. It is not the diesel ZX, whose FJA300W identity, F33A-FTV engine and five-seat cabin belong on a separate variant page.

Look a little closer.

On the gasoline ZX, the third-row seats fold into the floor electrically. Toyota kept that feature tied to the gasoline seven-seat layout instead of pretending the diesel's five-seat cargo area was the same cabin.

A ladder frame redesigned, not abandoned

Toyota retained a separate frame because durability and off-road repairability are central Land Cruiser traits, then rebuilt it around the GA-F platform. New welding methods, high-tensile steel and aluminum body panels raised claimed frame rigidity by 20 percent while the body and powertrain program shed about 200 kg compared with the 200 Series.

Why gasoline and diesel ZX stay separate

Toyota's launch tables make the two ZX versions materially different identities. The gasoline VJA300W combines the 3.5-liter V35A-FTS with seven seats and powered third-row floor stowage; the diesel FJA300W uses the 3.3-liter F33A-FTV and five seats. Their engines, torque figures and cabin layouts must not be blended.
