More than a set of wheels.
Lucid began customer-quality production in Arizona in September 2021 and handed over the first cars on October 30. The first run included 520 customer-configured Dream Editions. The Range version was tuned for distance rather than being the more powerful Performance version, and its exact wheel choice mattered: EPA rated the 19-inch car at 520 miles and the 21-inch car at 481.
Look a little closer.
Lucid chose 520 Dream Edition cars, and the 19-inch Range version's EPA rating happened to be 520 miles too—two different 520s with very different meanings.

The exact car behind 520 miles
The 520-mile result belongs to the Dream Edition Range fitted with 19-inch Aero Range wheels under the U.S. EPA test procedure. EPA rated the same Range model with 21-inch wheels at 481 miles. These are standardized laboratory estimates for comparison, not a promise that every driver will cover 520 miles in weather, traffic and speed of their choosing.

Lucid listed the Dream Edition Range at 933 hp, more than 1,000 N·m, 0–60 mph in 2.7 seconds and 168 mph. Those are company performance specifications for the Range model. The Dream Edition Performance was a different 1,111-hp variant and must not be used as if it were the 520-mile car.

Lucid began production at its Casa Grande, Arizona plant in September 2021 and delivered the first customer cars on October 30. The company identified the pack as 118 kWh and described the Range model's 4.4 miles per kWh as a figure derived from its EPA-rated range. The production and delivery dates explain why this is cataloged as a 2022 model even though the first handovers occurred in calendar year 2021.
