VinFast LUX A2.0 prototype
VinFast's first large sedan arrived in Paris as a working promise of a new Vietnamese car industry. Its elegant shape was already visible, but the numbers beside it were development targets rather than final showroom claims.

More than a set of wheels.
VinFast gave the LUX A2.0 its world premiere alongside the LUX SA2.0 at the 2018 Mondial Paris Motor Show. More than 60,000 people had voted on early design proposals; the winning sedan sketch came from Italdesign Giugiaro and Pininfarina developed it into the show car. VinFast said series production would begin in mid-2019, which is why this profile keeps the 2018 car firmly labelled as a prototype.
Look a little closer.
Nearly 300 development cars were being tested in Vietnam and Europe while the two Paris show cars introduced the brand to the world.

A public vote became a production design
VinFast commissioned 20 sedan and SUV sketches from four Italian studios, then invited Vietnamese people to choose. The public selected Italdesign Giugiaro's sedan direction, and Pininfarina translated it into a manufacturable design. That makes the LUX A2.0 unusual: national public input shaped the starting point, but specialist engineering and design teams still had to turn the sketch into a real car.

The press kit explicitly called every technical figure provisional and described acceleration figures as unhomologated targets. It also said production and Vietnamese deliveries would start in 2019. The 2018 profile therefore records the proposed twin-output engine, chassis and dimensions without borrowing specifications from later customer cars.
